Julia Roberts Celebrates Wedding Anniversary With Throwback Photo

Julia Roberts and Danny Moder's love is still going strong, two decades and counting. 

On Thursday, the actress celebrated the couple's 22nd wedding anniversary with a sweet post on Instagram. "TWENTY TWO YEARS," Roberts wrote in all caps alongside a throwback photo of the two sharing a passionate kiss in coordinating black outfits. For her part, she wore an LBD with tiny spaghetti straps, while Moder matched his wife in a black suit and a striped shirt.  

In the caption, Roberts added bride, groom, and American flag emojis in honor of the couple's secret Fourth of July wedding at her Taos, New Mexico ranch in 2002, in which guests, including George Clooney and Brad Pitt, were merely invited to "celebrate Independence Day." It was both their second marriages, with the Pretty Woman star initially tying the knot to Lyle Lovett in the '90s and Moder previously married to makeup artist Vera Steimberg. 

Roberts and Moder met on the set of the 2001 film The Mexican and later welcomed three children together—twins Phinnaeus Walter and Hazel Patricia, 19, and a 17-year-old son named Henry Daniel. 

While the pair usually keep their relationship out of the spotlight, Roberts couldn't help but gush about Moder while calling him the "anchor" of their family on the Today show in December 2023. "It all starts with Danny Moder,” she said. “He is our person and, in the most beautiful way, the captain of our ship." Roberts added, “For me, understanding how deeply felt life could be really started with him.”
