Kate Middleton Not Attending the Trooping the Colour Rehearsal

After stepping back from royal duties earlier this year while undergoing chemotherapy, Kate Middleton has yet to make an official royal appearance in 2024. Although some royal experts had wondered whether she might attend the traditional Trooping of the Colour ceremony, but this is now looking less likely as the palace has confirmed that the princess will not attend the rehearsal for the event.

The Princess of Wales will not be in attendance at the traditional Colonel's Review on June 8th, which serves as a rehearsal for the main event. Her usual role of Inspecting Officer will fall to Lieutenant General James Bucknall, KCB, CBE, a former commander of the Allied Rapid Reaction Corps. Middleton's name was removed from the Kensington Palace website about the event back in March.

This news from the palace comes after reports that Middleton has been out and about running errands alone and with her family. Royal reporter Katie Nicholl also recently reported that Middleton has "turned a corner" with her treatment.

There is still speculation amongst royal fans and experts as to whether Middleton will be in attendance at the main event, which is scheduled to take place on June 15th.

Royal expert Gareth Russell previously explained to Us Weekly that while Middleton might be planning to attend the event, “that could change at a moment’s notice.”

Last year, Middleton attended the ceremony alongside her family, wearing a striking green coat dress by designer Andrew GN in a seeming nod to her colonelcy of the Irish Guards.
